Jon – Guitar

By far the youngest member of the band (though admittedly that’s not saying much…), Jon has been playing guitar since he was 15, occaisonally in public. Like Niall, Jon is a jazz guy at heart, although we suspect he says this as a half-arsed excuse for all those jazz bum notes.

When forced to play rock, Jon will gurn with the best of them, and employ his fleet-fingered chops to devasting effect (ie. the audience leave…). He names Dokken’s George Lynch and Ratt’s Warren DeMartini as his favourite rock players, and envies their bouffant mullets.

In Evolution, Jon has played Vigier, PRS and Gibson guitars, but has now settled on a  purple Suhr Standard and a old MusicMan Axis hardtail, both plugged into a Bogner Ecstasy amplifer, via a Bad Horsie wah pedal. He adds some delay and reverb via a TC Electronic G-Major. Don’t ask him about any of it, unless you really want to be bored to death for at least an hour.
